Buffalo is better known for its range of wireless products, of which we've reviewed quite a few. However, Buffalo also makes memory. In saying that, it's very thin on the ground and hard to find in the UK.

Whenever I think of a high end module, the first thing that comes to mind is bright colours and cool heat spreaders. However, these Buffalo modules look particularly ordinary. There's a lot of evidence that suggests that heat spreaders do very little to aid overclocking, but common sense dictates that it should at least affect the life time of the product.

Just like most of the modules on test, the SPD data is incorrect and doesn't include anything for its rated speed of 1000MHz at 5-5-5-15 timings.

Initially, I was surprised at how these modules kept up with the best, overclocking to 1200MHz. However, despite its dowdy attire, these Buffalo sticks are made from the same Micron D9 memory chips that all of these modules are based on.
At £279.90, these are about the same price as the Corsair memory, which is rated at a slightly higher speed and have heat spreaders.
