Some more details about Intel's successor to Atom have purportedly surfaced, thanks to a report by analyst firm USB Securities. The chip apparently only just popped up on Intel's roadmap and isn't scheduled for release until 2010, but nonetheless a few details are available.

Unsurprisingly the chip is expected to be built on a 32nm manufacturing process, as will all of Intel's CPUs scheduled for release in the same timeframe. The most interesting thing about Medfield, though, is that it will be a fully integrated System on Chip solution, integrating CPU and chipset in one die - just like Nehalem does now.

Even more interestingly, according to the roadmap Medfield will sport integrated graphics of some kind. Supposedly there will be two different options, one with notebook class graphics and another with a mobile device spec GPU. As Atom is intended for MIDs as well as netbooks, that's hardly surprising.
