Intel Extends CPU Range

As if Intel's current range of CPUs wasn't already huge enough, the company has gone ahead and added to it by a further three chips. There's nothing particularly exciting, so without further ado here's how the new parts stack up.

Core 2 Quad Q8200
- 2.33GHz clock speed
- 4MB L2 cache
- 1333MHz FSB
- 45nm
- $224 (~£125) per 1,000 units
- 2.5GHz clock speed
- 2MB L2 cache
- 800MHz FSB
- 45nm
- $84 (~£47) per 1,000 units
- 2.2GHz clock speed
- 512KB L2 cache
- 800MHz FSB
- 65nm
- $53 (~£30) per 1,000 units
With Nehalem Core i7 just around the corner, though, most of us will probably be holding off buying a current generation Intel chip just now.

lol - probably not.
Looks like the CPU range is getting refreshed ready for Nehalem at the end of the year.

I think it's safe to say Intel is using up some of the silicon it has invested in Penryn in preparat... more

I'm going to hazard a guess that the D 450 doesn't have 512MB of L2 Cache... ;)
