AMD may be keeping tight lipped about Phenom and its forthcoming new graphics card range but luckily for us technology aficionados details are still leaking out onto the grapevine. The latest information to find its way down to us includes a tentative 19th of November launch date for Phenom and RV670, as well as some more data on the latter.

Following on from earlier speculation we now know, via a board partner's site, that RV670 will hit the stores as AMD HD 3800. Initially three cards will be available, the AMD HD 3870, which has two variants and the AMD HD 3850. The latter is to come in GDDR3 and GDDR4 flavours packing 512MB of the memory. Both will have 775MHz clocks out of the factory, with board partner's dictating final speeds, and while no speed is given for the GDDR3 version, the GDDR4 card will have its memory clocked at 1.2GHz by default.

The HD 3850 will have a reduced 256MB of GDDR3 memory running at 825MHz with the core clocking at 660MHz by default. Other RV670 features include Quad Crossfire support, and the ability to use one card as a dedicated physics processor, the latter of which could prove especially interesting. No pricing information is known yet, but with the recent launch of nVidia's 8800 GT and plans for a new, improved 8800 GTS AMD will presumably aim to be price-competitive.
