Processor giant Intel has created an online gaming tournament called Bloodline run in association Jolt Online.
The Intel Extreme Edition Challenge will see gamers playing the game Painkiller, for the honour of gaining a place in the gaming clan ‘4Kings’ and competing with them in next years Cyberathelete Professional League (CPL) World Tour. Here gamers actually earn their living competing in tournaments for prize money.

With over 128 entrants the initial stages of the competition are being conducted online. The Bloodline challenge is currently down to the final 32 and the final eight will make it through to the final stages, which will be conducted 'face-to-face' on a LAN. This will be then whittled down to two.
The LAN event will take place from the 3-5 December at the Black Island Studio in located in North/West Acton, London.
In addition, to the main competition the public are being invited to come down and bring their gaming PC to join in a general LAN gaming party with a number of the popular online games being offered. This will cost £40 and you’ll need to book in advance at the Jolt web site. Those not taking part can spectate, though it will cost £5 to do so.
