Not content with lending its expertise to Victorinox’s Swiss Army Knife, memory specialist Swissbit has announced the availability of DDR2 memory modules. These will be available in capacities from 256MB to 1GB.

Swissbit isn't a well known brand in the UK but claims to be Europe's leading memory manufacturer.

While the performance delta over standard DDR isn’t that significant at the moment, DDR2 promises higher clock speeds, which will prove to be an advantage in the future. Judging from the picture, Swissbit's memory will be running at 533MHz. One immediate benefit however, is power consumption, with the modules only consuming 1.8V compared to 2.5V.

Swissbit’s memory modules are all built using DRAM from major manufacturers such as Micron, Infinion, Samsung, and Elpida. The modules are assembled in an ISO 9001 and EN 14001 certified environment and the company claims they are thoroughly tested after production. You can find out more at www.swissbit.com.
