Ditte Solgaard is our second contestant from Edinburgh, which makes this a successful month for Scotland. I like the composition of this shot and the interesting use of reflection for a portrait-style shot. It is also an excellent example of fill-in flash. It was taken on a Canon EOS 20D.

Moving on to reflections in surfaces other than water, regular competition entrant and winner of a previous round Chris Mole from Danehill, West Sussex, UK spotted this reflection in the highly polished bonnet of a vintage Alfa Romeo while on holiday in Rome. Luckily he had his EOS 20D on hand to capture it.

The bright sunlight reflections in the steel buttresses of this luxury hotel in Tallinn, Estonia caught the eye of Dan Marsh, from St. Clement, Jersey, Channel Islands. The shot was taken using a Canon EOS 400D, and then converted to monochrome. The result is unusual but striking.
