Buying a cover for your Kindle that costs substantially more then the actual ereader itself may seem crazy. And in fact you’re right, it is completely bonkers but if style over substance is what you’re after, then look no further than the Capulet Nancy Kindle cover.

The Capulet Nancy is one of a range of fashion covers (including Catherine, Amy and Lisette) all of which are made of Italian calves’ leather and hand-crafted in Spain. Compared to your run-of-the-mill Kindle cover, these Capulet covers are aimed at the style conscious, those people who couldn’t be seen dead carrying any old regular Kindle case.

Putting cost aside, another issue for people looking to purchase this cover is that is it made of Italian calves’ leather which is going to immediately put a lot of people off. Why Capulet didn’t just say leather and leave out the information about the calves, we don’t know – but then again we don’t think we are the target market for this cover.

Anyhow, issues with cost and ethics aside, the Capulet Kindle cover is very basic. It does what it says on the tin so to speak, and not much else. Styled to look like an envelope, the Capulet cover will snugly hold your Kindle 3/Keyboard Kindle, but not much else. Of course it will also work for the latest Kindle leaving room for your LG Prada too.

Capulet Nancy Kindle Case 2

The lining of the Capulet case is genuine suede and the cover is closed using a magnetic clasp, which offers a satisfying action. The Capulet case we looked at was purple in colour but it also comes in turquoise, dark green and a rather odd snake skin version.

Capulet Nancy Kindle Case 4

The leather finish itself does feel premium, though we have to say that we found it a little slippery to the touch. But then again maybe we’re just not used to handling a lot of Italian calves’ leather.

Capulet Nancy Kindle Case 5

The Capulet cover also comes in a natty felt carrying case (a case for your case if you will) which is again completely pointless – but has a really nice ribbon on it.

Verdict
The Capulet Nancy cover for your Kindle will appeal to very few people. Not only will the high cost price put people off, but the use of Italian calves’ leather will mean this cover will also turn people off. However, if you want to make a fashion statement while carrying your Kindle, and you have more money than you know what to do with, then this might just be the case for you.
