No picture of the scanner platten - can you scan the page of a book into the margin without breaking the book? In other words, how wide is the bezel?

In reporting the manufacturer's ink yield claims, do you make any attempt to verify? How much ink goes into the sponge under typical domestic usage cycle - i.e. just a couple of pages per print, then another purge. Which? magazine found that Canon printers were amongst the worst for this. It would be interesting if you could run your own tests here, rather than simply publishing the manufacturer's figures. Certainly my own Canon printer spends ages chundering and spinning its wheels, and I can only guess how much ink it wastes doing that.
