One small point, the review claims the printer ships with a 500-sheet main tray and an optional 250-sheet tray. It's actually the other way around, it comes with the 250-sheet tray as standard and the 500-sheet tray (PF-44) is an optional extra.

I bought one of these last year (before the awards :-) and couldn't be happier with it. It's fast which the other half appreciates as she frequently has to print sizable documents and although it's not especially quiet, the hall cupboard where it's installed means that this isn't an issue.

The control menus via the front panel are a little fiddly but the printer also offers a full blown web interface where you can control pretty much anything that the menus allow you to change from the comfort of your browser, including how deep a sleep mode to go into, whether to default to duplex print, automatically converting paper size (e.g. Letter to A4) and a whole heap more. The build quality is excellent and the whole thing feels well engineered.

The icing on the cake was the 3 year warranty promotion being offered (at the time of writing I believe this is still available) and if you're concerned about green issues, Canon will pay for posting your old toner cartridges back to them for recycling.

Overall I'm very pleased with it and if anyone is considering buying one, some retailers have it for around £100 which I think is an absolute steal.
