On first impressions, there’s no denying the potential of the EOS 1200D in the entry-level DSLR market. Canon has made several key improvements to the camera’s specification, while the accompanying EOS Companion app is sure to be a hit with those new to DSLRs. The real deal-maker is the camera’s price. At £349 body only at launch, rising to just £449 with the image stabilised 18-55mm kit lens, Canon is clearly laying down a marker in the increasingly competitive entry-level market with the EOS 1200D.
