Actually, BD-RE means ReWritable - you can reuse them.

The quality is okay in good lighting, and the Blu-ray disc abilities are unique. DVD camcorders have been a success, despite most of them being rubbish. Being able to pull the disc out of the camcorder and stick it in a player is something a lot of people want, and now they can do it with HD. That's the main reason for the reasonable scores for this camcorder.

You gave this 7/10? The media is £20 a disc, and you can only use it once!.. the picture isn't very good, the discs don't work in all the drives... and it costs much more than comparable devices.
Also, maybe I'm crazy, but can't 8GB flash media can be brought for LESS than £20. They are faster, a million times more flexible in terms of device compatibility and you can reuse it. You would have to be an idiot to buy a blu-ray camcorder.
Why does this device even exist? In 6 months a 16GB flash card/stick will cost £10. All a camcorder would need for simplistic playback of the content is a hdmi port, all HDTV's have them.. why mess around with a disc?
