Just bought a MFC-J825DW to use with my Mac Pro. The Driver/software disc provided in the box was inserted into the Mac Pro and was thrown out straight away with a message on the screen advising that the Printer wouldn't work with OS 10.7 (LION). Sent an email to Brother, who immediately sent me a file with links to their support site, - all those links were exclusively for Windows only drivers, nothing for a Mac. (very useful eh) Then spent some time picking through various files on Brother website, downloaded about half a dozen and ended up with a really kludgy Brother "Control Centre" - Scanning is uncontrolled and incapable of scanning multiple documents to one file, - No chance what so ever of printing onto a CD or DVD (does not seem to exist as a printing option). This printer not a good purchase for Mac users.

bought a MFC-825DW . From the reviews I thought it was going to be a good printer/copier/scanner/fax. Set it up and from the start worked great. Then I started having printing issues, like the black cartridge was running dry. Purchased new cart(not brother) and installed the cart, printing started working. Printing issues again(less than 50 pgs printed). Went through 4 cart in approx 1 wk. Called Brother tech support, he stated I needed to use Brother cart only because they have a special anti coagulant in their cart. Got a brother cart, called them back, had to clean the cart heads, starts printing, time goes by. Approx 2 wks since cleaning, won't print again,(hasn't printed 30 pages) called tech again, they say it needs cleaning again. The thing about their special ink in pure BS. Luckily this is still under their warranty and it's going back to it's original home. I do not need a printer that has to be cleaned every time you need to use it.
