The Bosch WIS24140GB may not be the prettiest of machines, but it’s built in so can be neatly hidden behind a cupboard door. Looks are no indication of power, either, and this machine certainly packs a punch. It has a Wash Plus system for excellent cleaning power, which gives the Bosch WIS24140GB an A Class wash rating, and a monitoring system to protect your clothes against damage whilst being cleaned.
Happily, this excellent cleaning ability doesn’t come with long waits with the Express Wash system meaning the machine has up to 40% faster programme times, so you stop thinking about the washing almost twice as quickly. The wash programmes themselves are varied, including options such as hand wash, wool, delicates, and mixed load. The Bosch WIS24140GB ‘s 15 Clothes Care programmes will better look after your clothes whilst they are washing, and there’s even a reduced ironing option.
Despite all these options, the machine is not difficult to use with the classic collection of text and symbols on the front of the machine lining up clear and easy to understand, making setting up options such as prewash or variable temperatures a doddle. You can also select your spin speed for each wash, up to the maximum spin speed of 1200 revolutions per minute (which sadly isn’t particularly fast).
The SoftSurge drum makes washing wool items risk free, and the 3D AquaSpa wash system allows the water to penetrate the fabric more quickly and wash more thoroughly. At 56 decibels the Bosch WIS24140GB is also a fairly quite machine although an alarm will go off to let you know how long your wash has left, a handy feature that quickly becomes irksome as it continues to blare until manually turned off.
The drum is large, with a capacity of 7kg, and the door opens really wide so it’s nice and easy to get your washing in and out. The WIS24140GB’s only real problem is the spin, as some bulkier items will come out still wet after a spin wash, something that is far from ideal in a larger machine.
