Whilst the Bosch TWK8631GB is a traditional jug style kettle, it looks lovely and modern. It has a 1.7 litre capacity, which is fairly standard for modern kettles although this should be more than enough for the average family — it’ll make a good round of hot drinks in one go and can fill up even a large saucepan.
With the stainless steel interior base concealed the heating element, this design feature will prevent the build-up of limescale, and if limescale isn’t building up you don’t have to worry about getting rid of it. There’s also a removable stainless steel limescale filter — as it’s removable it’s really easy to clean.
A double-sided water level indicator makes it really easy to see how much water is in the Bosch TWK8631GB and therefore how much more water you need to put in to make drinks for everyone. The lid opens with just one touch, which makes it incredibly easy to fill the Bosch TWK8631GB up. The on-off switch is integrated into the handle and is illuminated so it’s easy to see.
Nicely designed, the Bosch TWK8631GB feels like a good, well-built kettle with the outside not getting hot, even when the water has just boiled, so you’re not in danger of burning yourself. What’s more, it’s also comfortable to hold and use proving well balanced and capable of pouring without dripping.
The Bosch TWK8631GB has a few really useful features, too, such as a keep warm feature. The water in the Bosch TWK8631GB boils extremely quickly so you don’t have to wait around for ages if you want a cup of tea. It’s easy to keep clean, easy to use and not too noisy. As a general all round kettle it’s very impressive — it’s just whether or not the Bosch TWK8631GB can justify its fairly high cost.
