Bosch TDS2551 Steam Generator
With a massive amount of steam power and an attached water tank, the Bosch is an ideal iron for people with large loads of ironing to get done. The iron has an easy to use steam button for continuous steaming of garments, and the power is variable, so that anything from delicates to the thickest of fabrics can be tackled. This model can be used to steam vertical items, so curtains can be done whilst still hanging, as well as suits and jackets on hangers.
The iron is connected to a base unit, which houses the water tank. The tank holds more than enough water for the average load of ironing, but if you are looking to steam large amounts, the water can be refilled whilst the iron is on, saving you having to turn the system off to refill. The plate of the iron itself is coated in a scratch resistant material, and easily glides over fabrics.
Despite all of these great features, the iron plate itself is quite small, which does mean large items that need pressing rather than just steaming will take some time. Also, the cord could be longer, sitting the entire unit including the base on the ironing board can be quite precarious. However, these are very minor issues in an otherwise brilliant iron, which really does speed up the job of ironing.
