Key features:

  • 24-inch LCD TV
  • Native Full HD resolution
  • Built-in soundbar and DVD player
The cheapest model in this round-up of value TVs, the Linsar X24-DVD is a terrific small-screen option that’d be ideal as a bedroom TV. It uses a 24-inch, Full HD LCD panel and manages to stay slim despite squeezing in a built-in DVD player.

Picture quality is good, but by no means spectacular. The screen is sharp and bright, colours are punchy, but contrast is limited. However, the brilliant speakers make up for this. They never sound distorted or overloaded even during full-on action scenes, and there’s plenty of bass to underpin everything.

At time of review the Linsar X24-DVD was available for £299.

No 'best budget screen over 50"' category?

Sadly the TX-50CX802 is not sold in many European countries. What would the second best option be?

Maybe comparing 24" TV with 50"+ is not really very fair?
