Samsung Galaxy Note 4

Key features:

  • Exceptionally sharp, vibrant 2K display
  • Brilliant 2-day battery life
  • Solid all-round camera
The Note 4 is the big boy of the Galaxy phone family. It’s a phablet for creative and productive types, but don’t let that put you off. This is a phone packed with cutting-edge tech helping to make it one of the standout phones of the year.

Despite its hulking frame it’s still one of the most manageable big phones to use and now has a more attractive aluminium trim – it's miles better than the Note 3 in terms of design. The 5.7-inch Quad HD screen is sharp and vibrant and with the latest Snapdragon 805 processor is packed with power.

Of course, the S-Pen is still there and offers the best accurate stylus experience you’ll find on a phone. The camera now adds optical image stabilization to improve low-light shooting and the battery performance is excellent despite packing that big screen.

It’s expensive, but if you can stomach the cost and size, this is one of the phones of the year.

Price: £599
