iPhone 6

Key features:

  • Great 4.7-inch screen
  • Good all-round camera
  • Great new software features
The 4.7-inch screen is the headline of the feature of the iPhone 6, but it shouldn’t detract from the super-slim design, improved processor and the new features in iOS 8.

The design is still all glass and metal with gentle, soft curves. It’s not a striking as previous iPhones but it’s still solid, well built-handset. The screen might not be class-leading either, but for browsing, video and flicking through images it's more than equipped.

The dual-core A8 processor gives performance a bump up especially for gaming with the more energy efficient M8 sensor co-processor capturing sensor data to help the battery go further. The iPhone 6’s camera hasn’t changed drastically but it still offers a solid all round performance.

In the right conditions it can shoot detailed images however it lacks the optical image stabilization included in the 6 Plus to aid low-light shooting. On the battery front you can eek out two days of life and if you can live with some minor gripes this is still another great iPhone instalment.

Price: £539
