Best Home Office Printer

Key features:
  • Terrific print speeds
  • 60,000-page drum
  • Great for text and business graphics
The Dell B2360d is as honest as a mono laser printer comes. With a conventional design, large paper capacity and a drum with a service life of 60,000 pages, it’s built to be reliable rather than showy. Dell makes some big claims with printing speeds though, and while our five-page text test saw 21.4ppm, our 20-page test achieved 31.6ppm, which is far superior to many similar-priced mono lasers. Text and business graphics are clear, but dark shades in photo prints are almost completely lost.

Annoyingly, the output tray blocks the LCD display and printed pages hide the controls, which can make cancelling a job rather fiddly. The fact that it prints pages really quickly but lacks Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity makes it unusual, in that it’s speedy enough to serve a small office, but lacks the requisite user-friendliness. Therefore, it's perfect for a busy home office.

Price: £140 (£155 at time of review)
