Best Chromebook

Key features:
  • 13.3-inch 1,366 x 768 display
  • 16GB internal memory
  • 7-8 hours battery life
Joining the likes of Acer, HP and Samsung, the Toshiba Chromebook is the company’s first Chrome OS-packing laptop effort and it’s the best we’ve seen so far. With an Apple-inspired design, the plastic Chromebook still has an attractive charm and doesn’t feel as cheap as the sub-£250 price tag suggests. The speakers are surprisingly decent and the bigger chassis makes it a far more comfortable domain to type on. It still suffers from an average screen but as the first to pack a 13.3-inch display and is definitely where you feel the pinch. Crucially as a second generation Chromebook It has the Intel Haswell-fuelled performance to make it a good alternative to a cheap tablet or Windows 8 laptop.

Price: £249
