Best Cheap 4G Phone

Key features:
  • 4.5-inch 960 x 540 pixel screen
  • Good battery life
  • 1.2GHz Snapdragon 400 CPU quad-core CPU
If you want faster browsing and speedier downloading on a budget, the EE Kestrel delivers a great 4G experience for under £100. The phone design is closely based on the Huawei Ascensd G6 with a 7.85mm thick body and a not so super-sharp 4.5-inch 960x 540 pixel resolution screen. It runs on Android 4.3 and is powered by a quad-core Snapdragon 400 CPU which is sufficient for most tasks but can mean some games are slow to load. There's also a decent 5-megapixel camera with a 1-megapixel front-facing one adequate for some selfie action.

4G performance will vary depending on coverage in your area and while in many respects it’s not too dissimilar to current king of the cheap smartphones, the Moto G, it still offers superb value for money without making too many compromises.

Price: £99
