The HDC-SD40 is Panasonic's entry-level non-pocket Internet camcorder, yet it still includes a decent range of features, including independent control of shutter and aperture. Image quality is decent, if not outstanding, and the price of slightly over £200 is very keen. If you want a little more control, but have a tight budget, this is a great-value choice.
