The Beko WMB81642W has a broad selection of features and functions that make it ideally suited for all-round cleaning that fits around a busy life. The 7kg drum takes a fairly large load of washing — okay, it’s not as big as the drums on models such as the Beko WMB81241, but it’s still more than you’d get on a slightly older machine.
When you’ve got your washing in there, you can pick from the Beko WMB81642W’s 16 different programmes to make sure your load is washed exactly as you want it to be. The standard programmes such as cotton and synthetics are still there but you also get extras such as half-load and eco-clean. You can then pick the temperature and spin speed of each wash, no matter what programme you’re using, and add extra rinses or spins to get rid of tough stains and pet hair. The Xpress Superfast cycle takes a mere 14 minutes.
Sound difficult to use with all these options? It’s not. In fact, it’s really easy to use. The LED display is clear and shows you all the info you could need about the programmes and cycle times; including how long the cycle has left.
The Beko WMB81642W has an impressive maximum spin speed of 1600 revolutions per minute, although if you want that speed you have to manually select it. When it hits that maximum speed, things can get a bit noisy, but the 1400 setting is quieter and dries out the clothes perfectly well. Impressively it manages to be economic on power usage even with that high spin speed, and it’s been awarded an A** energy efficiency rating.
On the downside, the machine looks a bit plastic-y and could possibly be a bit more durable, but as an all-round washing machine to suit a busy family life, it’s ideal.
