Beko DCU8230

The Beko DCU8230 is a good tumble dryer to get if you want a larger machine with impressive load capacities that will not break your bank balance. With an 8kg drum capacity, much bigger than the majority of the other models on the market, the DCU8230 has been awarded an energy efficiency rating of B, the standard for the better tumble dryers you can buy.

With the large round porthole door at the front of the Beko DCU8230 making it really easy to get oversized loads in and out of the machine, 15 variable programmes offer optimal drying procedures depending on the contents although these can prove a little complicated to set.

Whilst four of these programmes are timed and include special settings specifically for shirts or jeans, there is also a super fast Xpress wash for those times you need clothes in a hurry. If you don’t want to put too much effort into thinking about which mode to use, the sensor drying programmes take away much of the hassle.

With sensor drying available across 11 separate programmes, the self monitoring features will keep track of how much moisture is in the machine and the clothes, automatically stopping the drying process when the machine detects contents are suitably dry. A handy feature that means you don’t have to keep opening and closing the dryer door and resetting it, the sensor settings are also good for your electricity bills as you won’t waste energy on drying already dry clothes.

The Beko DCU8230 has LED progress indicator lights to show you how dry the clothes are and offering an indication of how long the washing has left to dry. Disappointingly, however, this feature isn’t particularly good at actually telling when the washing is dry — sensor drying is a nice idea, but it just falls flat on so many attempts at drying clothes. When it works it’s great...but it doesn’t always work.
