We all knew they were coming anyway, but thanks to leaks from stores in the US, we now know for sure that Apple's MacBook Pro range is set to be updated. All we need now is for Apple to do the decent thing and stump up the full details itself.

If the leaks are to be believed, then, three new MacBook Pros are set to surface, with part numbers MB402LL/A, MB403LL/A, and MB404LL/A. Obviously that doesn't indicate anything about the specs of the systems, but supposedly inside sources at both Apple and at various retailers are saying that the new Macs will pack Penryn processors as expected.

Much speculation has also been circulating that the new Pros will also include MacBook Air-like multi-touch capable touchpads. Apple has never said that would be an exclusive feature of the Air, so we wouldn't be surprised to see this addition.

Supposedly the new systems are expected to be in stock with retailers (in the US at least) by this Friday, suggesting a launch next Tuesday - the traditional Apple update day. Fingers crossed Apple aficionados.
