Virtual Network Computer, or VNC, is a system used to access and control a computer’s desktop from another computer across a network connection. As it’s based on open source code there are VNC clients available on number of platforms including OS X, Windows and Linux. As long as your computer has some VNC software running on it you can load up Android VNC Viewer, log into it and see and control the desktop from your phone over either a Wi-Fi or 3G connection.
But VNC isn’t just useful for logging in to your own computer. If you’re frequently called upon to provide tech support for your friends and family, you can use it to log in to their computers and sort out the problem yourself rather than struggling to give them instructions over the phone.
