Sound quality of the K451 is SSSSSOOOOOO BBBBAAAAAADDDDD!!!! I am so disapointed of it. The high rating it gets from the reviewers are surprising at the best...
They sound just great for this kind of money. Best in class.
Agree completely with dushkin - can't understand the high ratings for these - I found them hugely disappointing and out performed by a pair of cheaper Sennheiser PX100's. The sound is muddy.....the midrange and treble lack clarity and sparkle. A 48hr solid run-in did not significantly improve things. Just bought a pair of Sony MDR ZX610's instead - HUGE improvement. They deliver what I expected the 451's to deliver and I would recommend these over 451's at this price point without hesitation.
does it have a mic guys???
Listening to them now, yes, treble is a bit weak but fortunately this responds very well to a slight equalizer adjustment on my PC (and e.g. Spotify for iOS / Android has a built-in one!) Some also insist that this is helped by "burning them in". I'm no judge to tell whether that even works or is just a myth, but if it is a myth, it could also be that your ears need some adjustment. :) I also strongly recommend a good quality audio source. Try not to fall back on filthy old 160 kbps mp3's. Fortunately Spotify and other services offer "premium quality" settings ~320 kbps which are a whole different ball game.
