Two giants of the tech world and they put this piece of yesteryear on the market, and at that price it must have taken pence to manufacture, why even bother?!
yeah but the samsung runs an ARM processor, which makes it hard to just load a linux os and boot into that instead, and even if you manage that most programs wont run on an ARM. The Acer can be a fully functional $200 dollar laptop with 320GB of storage and all you need to do is set it up to run linux instead of the chrome OS shell of an operating system
You really have no idea what your talking about do you. Ubuntu 13.04 is easily installed on the Samsung. Almost every Linux app is available for ARM as well, if it's not well then you can compile it yourself by installing the development packages. Simply type, "sudo apt-get install packaging-dev" in the terminal, download the application in question and run the installer by typing, "./install". If there is no install script then just type, "./make", then when it's done compiling type, "sudo checkinstall".
