There's definitely some promise in the aXbo Sleep Phase Alarm Clock, but not so much as to make it worth close to £200. It's not a bad gadget; not as bad as the final score might suggest, but it's far too expensive for what it does.
Forgive me for being rather dense this morning (lack of sleep!), but just to confirm: You set an alarm time, and then it wakes you up at some point up to (but no more than) 30 minutes before said time? OK then... I think I'll stick with my current routine - set an alarm clock for when I need to be up, set another alarm 30 minutes earlier, and get up between those times once I gather the motivation to do so. This costs a fair bit less than £200.
Thanks for the review. As you say, there's probably the seed of a good idea somewhere in here. While I'll be giving this a miss, I rather hope that lots of people with more money than sense do buy it, and that the money is reinvested to improve the technology. In a few years hopefully the new generation of high-tech alarms will actually do something useful and at a sensible price. Oh, and they really, really need to change the name of their product and of their company.
