Any idea on how this compared to the Sony RHT-G900 ? I'm thinking of getting the Sony's stand one day, however I don't know whether it is any good.

It just looks like someone at Sharp took a hacksaw to a regular TV stand and shoehorned in a pair of cheap speakers and DVD player. And at that price I'd at least expect recordable DVD. And given that directional 'info' for stereo separation, etc is commonly contained in higher frequencies what's with the tweeters being nearer the centre than the woofers?

Good review. How about reviewing the Sony RHT-G500? This one is so new they don't even have it in the Sony shops so I can have a listen - unlike the G900 that Luan mentioned.

The AN-PR1500H is a clever concept well executed, allowing people looking for a TV stand and home cinema system to kill two birds with one stone and cut out all the hassle. Although the chunky design won't be to everyone's taste, the excellent sound quality certainly will be, plus there's a decent range of features and extensive connections. On the downside, the remote is shocking and its upscaling limitations are a turn-off, but on the whole Sharp has done a good job.
