Provided its caveats - especially the viewing angle one - don’t impact your particular viewing setup, the Black Diamond II can deliver what for many normal home cinema enthusiasts might be considered the Holy Grail: namely mammoth, good quality pictures that can be watched in a degree of ambient light for a price that’s a tiny fraction of what you’d have to stump up for a 70in or bigger plasma or LCD TV.Read full review
@impact of single-chip DLP projector’s rainbow effect
I've found using my PJ that ambient light in a room reduces the rainbow effect, so it's a shame this emphasises it. :( Saying that my PJ is only the Optima HD65 so using £2,329 screen would seem odd.
Whilst in comparison with a 103" plasma this is cheap, for a lot of people over £2k for a screen is a big ask. I have recently noticed cine.4home.de are doing their own Maxlum. This is cheaper I think. Are there any plans for a review of this at TrustedReviews?
How long until projectors themselves go the way of the Designosaur because we can have giant rollable OLED screens that retract just like projection screens? Now that would be awesome.
