On paper, Sanyo looked like it had stolen a march on Panasonic with the Xacti VPC-WH1, as the first consumer-oriented waterproof HD camcorder. But whilst its moisture-repelling capabilities are commendable, video performance in poorly lit underwater conditions isn't so outstanding. Nevertheless, you will still be able to grab many moments of aquatic pleasure, and at under £300 it's incredibly good value. So this may not be the perfect HD video water baby, but at least Sanyo's Xacti VPC-WH1 won't mean you have to dig deep to dive deep.Read full review
Yea it does have a microphone, It also has "voice memo" mode for when you just need to record sound. It actually works pretty well. Much better than a regular digital camera's microphone!.
I wrote a review about things to consider before buying this camcorder. It has a lot of drawbacks but makes up for it in other areas. People might be disappointed in it unless they have the proper expectations, which is what I discuss. http://bloggerboon.com/2010/03/04/sanyo-xacti-vpc-wh1-hd-waterproof-camcorder-review/
