The feature table mentions an optional external ethernet adapter. I cannot find this item on the Samsung website. Do you have a part no. or other any information on where this adapter can be purchased.
Beware if you are Mac user, Samsung does not support apple computers
I don’t normally write many reviews, but today I felt compelled to do it because some customers may benefit from my advice.
I purchased the Samsung SCX-4300 all in one printer, but I soon realized that I was not able to use the device as a scanner in my Macbook Pro. I went to samsung web age, downloaded driver for MAC OS, installed it, but the Smarthru application does not open after the reboot. I then spoke with one Samsung representative via chat support, he said that I should install windows in my mac in order to use the printer, therefore I purchased parallels desktop, I bought windows 7, and installed them. I installed the samsung smarthru exe file (samsung software) in windows 7 in my mac, but despite this, smarthru "did not find the device" I called samsung, they told me to call pcworld, the place where I bought the mac, I went to PC world, but they did not have enough knowledge to handle my query, therefore I called Apple care and they tried my mac which is able to recognize other all in one printer devices.
Apple care told me to call Samsung. I called Samsung and they stated that there is nothing that samsung can do because "samsung does not support Mac OS" They also clearly stated that in order for them to provide me with support my computer should be Windows OS based! I escalated the issue and one Samsung “expert” called me and stated that in order for the scan to be recognized I had to buy and install a graphic converter. I did so, the scan is finally recognized but there is no availability of basic functions, such as the OCR. Therefore if I want to be able to scan choosing OCR option, I need to buy more software! At the moment I am stuck with an expensive, unusable, big item occupying space at home.
I have not received positive feedback from the company where I purchased the product (printware). I know that if I had purchased the printer in amazon, they would have refunded the money or changed the printer for a suitable one.
If you are windows user, fine. But if you are MAC OS user, you may want to consider buying a printer that supports MAC computers.
This Printer is suported by MAC OS - 10.6.4. I bought this printer yesterday and hooked it up to my iMAC via the USB port, in System Preferences, Printers and Faxes, the Printer appeared straight away in true MAC fashion. I did not even have to instal the printer software that came in the package.
Scanning also works fine in Image capture and Preview. The only tricky bit is if you are trying to hook it into the USB port of the Airport Extreme, all you have to do is to switch the Airport on and off and it will sense the printer!! No problems there.
Scanning seems to only work when it is directly connected to the MAC..not through the router but that's cool!
So I can confirm that this is working on a MAC...here is the apple statement for it:

Also you can go to the samsung website for the drivers if you need it:

I think this printer works great for what it costs!!
