I think I'd rather go for a Dell 1564 / HP G62, both of which can be had with Core i3 for less than £400.

The Samsung R530-JA03UK offers the minimum specs to produce good performance, but it's bettered in value terms by other laptops in the same range. The decent build and keyboard means it's comptent laptop, but those looking for the very best available for the very least money, or a gaming-capable setup, should look elsewhere. Read full review
