Our Score:

A range of test shots are shown over the next few pages. Here, the full size images at the minimum and maximum ISO settings have been reduced for bandwidth purposes to let you see the full image, and a series of crops taken from original full resolution images at a range of ISO settings have been included in order for you to gain an appreciation of the overall quality.

This is the full frame at 80 ISO.

As you might expect, the image quality at the minimum ISO setting is very good.

Still no significant problems at 100 ISO.

At 200 ISO the noise reduction is starting to kick in, blurring some fine detail.

At 400 ISO the effects are more severe, but there is still some fine detail left.

The noise reduction has smeared out most of the fine detail at 800 ISO.

As usual, 1600 ISO is pretty much useless.

This is the full frame at 1600 ISO.

You could eliminate much of the tat before reviewing, by stipulating that most cameras will be expected to include a viewfinder.

To cut down on troll traffic I will qualify that I said MOST, there would still be room for exceptions.
