The Pentax P70 is a camera with both good and bad points. It looks great, is well made and is extremely easy to use. It has a useful zoom range, the monitor is nice and it has some useful advanced features including an effective digital SR system. Image quality is good under most circumstances, low-light performance is also above average, and it is certainly good value for money. However it is let down by very slow performance, especially when using the digital SR feature.Read full review
A good review as always Cliff. I was wondering if you had any plans to review the Samsung WB500 in the next couple of months? I ask as I'm currently set to buy the Cannon Powershot SX110 for my honeymoon around the Med but the Samsung may be a contender if it gets a 'recommended' from you.
OOPS, you've missed out the 2nd most important thing after Picture Quality... two pictures of the user interface. A good optical performance can be rendered useless by features that are buried deep or are not available in 2 seconds when the photo opp occurs. For example, I trust Canon lens quality totally and love their adjustable screen but the interface is terrible, it's impossible to read and hopelessly complex.
Aside from that omission TR remains the very best review site on the planet.
