Our Score:

A range of general test shots are shown over the next two pages. In some cases, the full size image has been reduced for bandwidth purposes, and a crop taken from the original full resolution image has been placed below it to show the overall image quality. Some other pictures may be clicked to view the original full-size image.

Detail is sharp but smooth, with little in the way of JPEG artefacts.

Plenty of detail can be maintained by the 10MP CCD.

Colour and white balance is accurate and punchy with good saturation.

Exposure is generally very good, though bright highlights or particularly dark areas can fool the meter.

Can you use old K mount lenses on this camera ?

If so what is the focal length conversion factor ?

The wikipedia English page on the Pentax K200D mentions that, and if you click on the "K-mount" link you have more detailed information about the eventual need of stop-down metering.

What is the shutter lag time on this camera? Which Pentax model has the lowest lag time, accepts the Kmount lenses and is in the $400 to $600 price range.
