It's really tough to know what marks to give the 50PZ800B in the Picture and Overall departments. For on the one hand it's a truly mesmerisingly good HD performer, while on the other its standard definition efforts leave a little to be desired in a number of areas. In the end, we've decided to let our love of HD win the day, and given the TV a 9. But if you don't watch much or any HD stuff, then the standard definition issues really should make you think at least twice before sending more than £1,800 Panasonic's way.

How can you give this Plasma TV 9/10 when its standard TV output is not that great. Also

this TV is nowhere near the quality of the pioneer plasmas.

From a pure design point of view, I don't like the silver segment underneath the black frame. It draws attention away and although many people might find this insignificant, it would definitely bug me. I'm interested in buying a Panansonic Plasma but I'll be looking for an all-black one (with as good a spec as this one)

I personally like, not love this design. I'm so sick of just black. God that's old. Glossy black! What a surprise...
