The Lumix DMC-fs10 is a 12.1-megapixel ultra-compact that features a 5x zoom lens equivalent to 28-140mm.
Looks interesting, but prepare yourself for a moan, or at least a question / lack of understanding etc.:the ISO tests - are these are done in natural light, hence the 1 second exposure time at ISO80 or whatever? If so - pretty impressive as far as this camera is concerned at least, but there have been occasions when (go on, quote them! no, i can't remember them etc. but if pressed I could dredge them up) the ISO tests that have been 'impressive' have shown too much noise in my opinion, possibly due to too long an exposure time. As performances of cameras /ccd / cmos also seem to vary with exposure time then the test you appear to be performing may be as much dependent on the weather as the camera! (yes, I know, overstatement - you can shoot me down if you like - I'm cruising in a Fokker.... no, a Hurricane)Regards etc.PS, this is my favourite camera review site, so sorry about shooting at you. I have my parachute ready....
Got one of these for my daughter as a present. I am utterly amazed. This is way superior to the rubbish Casio, Kodak, Samsung that I had bought before. I am most definately a Panasonic convert.
Cliff mate , your the expert in cameras and im a novice so please help me make a decision as to which camera i should buy. Im stuck between the Panasonic FS26 and Panasonic FS10.Price wise their ok. I will use the camera for taking stills but many of them will be in low light so which camera will do best. I also want the images i take to be clear which nice rich colours. In addition to this i will be taking video. Are the cameras good in low light and how bad is the microphone on the fs10. Please give me your opinion on which camera you think I should pick. Thank you very much
Quote from page 2 in the review: "My only real complaint about the FS10 is the LCD monitor, which has a rather narrow angle of view by modern standards. It's not too bad horizontally, but tilt the camera up or down and the screen becomes very dark, inverting completely by about 45 degrees, which is annoying if you need to hold the camera over the heads of a crowd."Was this observed when "High angle mode" was on? (Quote from advertisement: "The High-angle mode makes the LCD screen extremely easy to view when the camera is held high, such as when shooting over a crowd.")JrRRr
Hello there,I have read the reviews for the lumix FS10 and the Lumix FS62. Both cameras are extremely good and I am pleased with both. I am left with a dilemma of which camera to purchase. I need a camera that can record good quality videos and take good quality pictures,as you've already mentioned above, both are wonderful, I just need a little bit of advice on which camera to purchase. Thank you
