Orange missed the boat slightly by not offering a competitor to the T-Mobile MDA Vario, but it has made up for that with the SPV M3100. Taking the best features from the SPV M5000 and the Vario, the M3100 is feature packed, has unprecedented connectivity and is still small enough to use as a phone. The fact that you can pick this device up for free on a £35 contract is just icing on the cake.

I was reading reviews on this site before getting a new phone and thought the HTC phones must have improved after my Orange M3100, but I see that even this phone got 9/10.

It may have had a lot of feature for when it was released but it is a terrible phone:

1.It rocks on the desk when you type

2. I've had two replacements after the slide mechanism broke and the operating system locked-up

3. You can't read the screen outside, the stylus is too short, Windows Mobile 5 is slow and awkward to use.

How can it possibly justify the score? Are the new HTC phones any better?
