The wide angle end of the zoom is equivalent to 28mm, thankfully becoming more common on the better compacts.

The telephoto end is equivalent to 112mm, which is ideal for portrait shots.

Dynamic range is rather limited, but there is a little highlight detail.

Colour rendition is superb, with detail visible even in saturated highlights.
