The Logitech Squeezebox Boom is undoubtedly an impressive device that would make for the perfect accompaniment to an existing Squeezebox setup. On its own, though, it doesn't quite master everything and some might find its initial setup and controls a little convoluted. That said, once set up, it does work and for its diminutive size the sound quality is excellent.Read full review
I ran a squeezebox three for a while but concluded it was more of hobby than a way of listening to music, a lot of messing about is required to keep it up and running, even then drop out on internet radio was a problem and it's stupid that it doesn't support UPnP. As an alternative the (more expensive) Sonus system doesn't seem to suffer in this way, though I've ended up just using a airport express and iTunes/Airfoil, far more stable and flexible.
I'm glad to see you agree with what was probably my overall feeling regarding this device. Logitech needs to, not necessarily go back to the drawing board with this technology but, hone it down a little. Take a risk and maybe drop some of the features but make the ones it does have super easy to use.
Squeezebox Boom save £50. The best wireless network music system. Now only £129. It means play music off your PC or even direct from the internet anywhere in your home.
