I purchased one of these printers in late October 2009 having prev only used HP printers and can only describe it as a load of rubbish. When i got the machine working is had paper jam daily. It showed no ink in cartridge after 2 weeks and after fitting new ink cartridges it will now not print at all. It is noisey, the plastic looks and feels cheap. It is going back to Staples first thing tommorow. (Thank god i still have my old HP printer????

I really wished I had researched this printer and Kodak before I purchased the ESP9.

The print quality on everyday paper is dire, photopaper is OK though. The printer is noisy, build quality poor. I have spent the last 2 months in debate with Kodak trying to get the print quality issues addressed - their response.. I need to buy Kodak paper!

So, what I allegedly save on ink I have to spend on their paper - I don't think so! Back to the drawing board Kodak. My el-Cheapo, much older HP printer still produces the quality I'd expect and despite the more expensive ink, it's worth it.

As Kodak continues to produce printers with very low consumable costs, the value of its machines has to take that into account. However, the ESP 9 has a few rough edges, not least the noise levels it produces when printing, it's relatively sluggish speed and the driver problem we noticed. This is a fair home office all-in-one, with quality print delivered slowly.
