Offering a choice of overclocked processors, top graphics cards and various motherboards, we have a new small gaming system performance king from Cryo in the form of the Pico. However, it's not the quietest PC around nor the smallest high-end mini-ITX system we're likely to see in the near future, so it might be worth waiting to check out some forthcoming contenders to the SFF throne.
Addendum 19-07-2010: Both the spec as reviewed and the base configuration (which drops the SSD and downgrades to a 400W PSU and Radeon HD5770, but should still give you competent gaming performance) have dropped by £100 since time of writing, and when quoting TR can now be had for £1,295 and £895 respectively.Read full review
The Nano you reviewed had a ATI 5850 and no SSD so if your going to compare them shouldn't you mention this in your article? unknowing buyers may go for the pico as you make it seem a superior system which is a review fail IMO.
Any reason why Cryo didn't hook up a Corsair H50 or Coolit Eco to the top 120mm vent?
Also, unless I am missing something on their website, you can no longer get the Nano for £999 inc VAT you reviewed it at - If I spec it as the system you reviewed and I get £1141, and if you put the same spec into the Pico box, you get the same price.
Maybe I should have mentioned this but it's not really a matter of choosing which gives better performance, but rather which form factor you want. After all, you can spec the Nano to outperform the Pico by a huge margin with options like SLI/QuadFire.
@Vectorious:
Nice tag :)
True, due to the increasing component prices I mentioned in the review, prices of most systems have gone up... though conversely the price of the Pico has just decreased by £100, go figure.
