A range of general test shots are shown over the next two pages. In some cases, the full size image has been reduced for bandwidth purposes, and a crop taken from the original full resolution image has been placed below it to show the overall image quality. Some other pictures may be clicked to view the original full-size image.

Here's the usual detail test shot of the West Window of Exeter Cathedral, for you to compare with other cameras. See below for a full res crop, or click to see the whole picture.

Near the centre of the frame, overall detail isn't bad for a 7.2MP camera.

Significant barrel distortion at wide angle.

Lens sharpness isn't too bad at the centre of the frame, but it's still far from good.

Sharpness is very poor at the edges of the frame.

Pincushion distortion at the telephoto setting.

i agree with your article very much. i recently purchased this particular model and immediately noticed how easy and simple it is to use. but one thing i have appreciated was the YouTube uploader. this is such a plus for those who upload constantly to the YouTube site. the camera automatically converts the files to one that YouTube recognizes making uploading faster and easier. and for the price i think thats a plus.
