Whether or not it delivers on its considerable artistic ambitions, Braid is a fascinating and beautifully constructed platform/puzzle game. Don't miss it.
You can get the price down to about £8.75 if you buy a 2100 XML Points Card from Amazon.co.uk at the moment. And why it is *so* much cheaper to but points through channel than direct from the XBL? Note: I understand the whole `channel` mentality, the convenience/immediacy etc. but, in this case, a 27% price saving seems crazy. Oh the joys and idiosyncrasies of capitalism. :)
We've been discussing narrative in videogames on a games forum I belong to for the last couple of days. HL2 and Braid were the two examples being examined in the discussion.
I think that the Trusted Reviews opinion of Braid is pretty much in synch with mine, if you nailed a few paragraphs of Proust between the levels of Super Mario World it wouldn't mean that you were playing a game with a great story. Nailing 'Rick's Teen Anguish Poetry' between the levels makes it even less so.
