Acer's Full HD, 23in T230H might be the best of its breed, but 'touch' remains a feature that's not worth its substantial premium unless you specifically need it.Read full review

Indeed. The only way these would work is if you radically rearranged your desktop layout. Look down at your keyboard, your hands are very naturally hovering over it. Now imagine that the keyboard is actually a screen, maybe angled upwards by 5 or 10 degrees. I think that could work... except, where would you put your keyboard?
Also, mice are good because they actually amplify your movements. I can move my pointer right across my screen whilst only moving the mouse about 3 or 4 centimetres. Touchscreen does not amplify your movements, it's 1:1. It takes more effort to get the same things done. The only time it's useful is with multitouch, which is genuinely faster than clicking a rotate or zoom button. In that respect I think something like apple's weird magic mouse is probably the way forward, although I hate that particular design.
