The only passive entry in the final, the LG 42LW550T offers a great low cost way of getting into the 3D TV market. The 42in LCD panel with edge LED backlighting offers good 2D and 3D image quality as well as a host of features like BBC iPlayer, Acetrax, YouTube and the Plex Media Center. While the judges liked the more relaxed and accessible 3D experience of passive glasses, the LG 42LW550T didn’t offer quite enough take the Award for 2011.
